It's late. I had soccer, dinner, and then walked the dog in a picture-postcard snow storm so there's no time to blog.

My topic for tomorrow is......"How do you make people feel appreciated in the work place?"

Note: It's just days until the Widgets crew starts popping out major projects asked for by the evil people at The Network Who Shall Not Be Named. Okay, not all the people there are evil but certainly some of them are. Working with them goes with the theme of appreciation since our work for them was NEVER appreciated. I'm sure people are working right now even as I think about reading Jane Eyre and then going to sleep. I hope things go as well as possible so employees won't have to suffer even more for management's mistakes in negotiating schedules with that network.

I feel the same way about that place...as I think everyone there does...so why is it nothing ever changed? nobody ever spoke up? hmmm. Just glad I got out.

Oh, you can speak up, but eventually, if you do it, you stop getting invited to meetings, then, if you go to the meetings anyway, people complain to the "executives" that you're going to meetings that you SHOULD be at, but were specifically not invited to.

How's that for a run-on?

Anyway, only the "yes-people" get to maintain any influence. The "people-from-the-old-form-of-meida" don't like it when you mention that their plans are moronic.

Funny thing is...not a thing that goes on at that place means a damn thing at the end of the day. Its a bunch of people working their asses off for little or no reward, and it doesnt have to be that way. It starts at the top, and nobody speaks up about the working conditions, so it will never change. Whats funny to me, is a lot of the people AT the top, are very cool, and would probably be willing to help make a change in that prod dept....but the "Middle" management is the gateway (you know who Im referring to). They dont speak up, or quickly dismiss any idea that things dont work well with a "well, thats how it is, go back to work". They are YES men, even if it F#@ks everyone under them. THAT IS WHY nothing there will ever change. Get me fired up enough, and I'll name names. :) Even thinking of driving to that office in the morning makes me ill.
